Sunday Services

Christ the King is one church with a family of congregations. Worship is central to our life together, and is an opportunity to respond to the love of God for us. Our Sunday worship is on a monthly pattern, although it may vary occasionally.  Our music is largely contemporary, and our style informal. At the heart of our worship is preaching. As God's Word is taught, so He challenges, changes, and equips us to live for him in our daily lives. Prayer ministry is available at all services as part of our response to the Lord’s presence among us.

The two Sunday morning services are almost identical, and you are welcome to join either congregation. There are groups for the children during all but Family Worship services, where we encourage the church to worship together as a family.

Grapevine on Sunday afternoon at 4.30 pm is a shorter interactive service for all ages, followed by tea. This meets at Kingsley school on Churchill Way.

Our Sunday evening service is a more informal opportunity to gather in worship, and to respond to what God is saying to us.

Evening services – a new look for 2009!

Have you ever been to our Sunday evening service at 6.30pm?  This is a wonderful time to sink deeper into the Lord in worship and teaching.  Our other services are bustling and lively with lots going on.  In the evening, there is often more of a sense of spaciousness and time to encounter the Lord with little other distraction.  We are trying something different with our evening services at the moment, giving each week a slightly different flavour.

1st Sunday will strike a note of Celebration

2nd Sunday we are focussing more on Communion

3rd Sunday will be more Contemplative

4th Sunday will include Prayer for Healing

Are you busy with children’s or youth work in the morning?  Come and be refreshed in the evening.  If you are married, why not take it in turns to look after the children and give each other an evening alone with the Lord.
